About Kairos
Preparation before action
Kairos means the right or decisive moment—the point where preparation, judgment, and opportunity come together.
Kairos is a complete, independently engageable registered investment-advisory firm. Planning establishes the purpose of the portfolio; implementation follows a documented advisory process.
Advice is defined by the client’s written engagement. Kairos is accountable for the investment-management and financial-planning advice it provides, and client understanding and authorization precede implementation.
Goals, obligations, timing, liquidity, and risk capacity establish the purpose of the portfolio.
Recommendations follow an orderly process built around the client’s circumstances and engagement.
Advice should be understandable, purposeful, and proportionate to the problem it solves.
Responsibilities and decisions are documented before implementation.
Advisory services
Purpose, scope, accountability
Clients may engage Kairos for one or more services. Each service is governed by a written advisory agreement defining its scope, fees, responsibilities, and monitoring.
Portfolio construction, implementation, monitoring, rebalancing, and reporting under a written advisory agreement.
Planning connects the portfolio to goals, liquidity, retirement, taxes, estate considerations, and risk. Core planning is included for portfolio-management clients.
A defined project with identified questions, assumptions, deliverables, fee, and completion event. Continuing monitoring is not implied after delivery.
Recurring planning and monitoring under a separate agreement and fee. Expanded planning may be included in qualifying portfolio-management relationships.
Documented planning concerning employer plans, IRAs, retirement income, liquidity, distributions, and available rollover alternatives.
Advice concerning business value, liquidity, succession considerations, concentrated wealth, retirement priorities, and family obligations.
Fees, scope, and review cadence are defined in the client agreement and Form ADV. Kairos does not separately bill for planning already included in a portfolio-management engagement.
Kairos provides investment management and financial planning. It does not prepare tax returns, sell insurance, or draft legal documents.
Investment approach
Every asset needs a purpose
Investment implementation begins only after Kairos develops a reasonable understanding of the client’s goals, constraints, liquidity needs, time horizon, and risk capacity within the advisory engagement.
Clarify the obligations, objectives, constraints, and decisions the portfolio must support.
Separate near-term needs from longer-term capital before evaluating return objectives.
Balance risk, diversification, implementation cost, tax considerations, and client-specific restrictions.
Act only within the written discretionary or non-discretionary mandate and the client’s documented instructions.
Review and adapt at the cadence and within the domains the client agreement expressly defines.
Investing involves risk, including possible loss of principal. Diversification and asset allocation do not guarantee a profit or protect against loss.
